Crimea War 1854 - 1856
I had the privilege of designing the book and artwork for Crimea War 1854-1856: The Role Played by Fermanagh and Clogher Valley. My design approach focused on clarity and historical reverence, evident in the cover art featuring Major G.A. Maude and the custom-drawn maps illustrating soldier origins. I structured the layout to make the extensive research accessible, ensuring the text and historical plates complemented each other.

The book itself is a unique regional study, moving beyond the standard narrative of the Light Brigade to profile over 300 local individuals. It uncovers lost stories, such as James Beatty’s construction of the first military railway and the Maude brothers’ heroism. My work aimed to give a visual voice to these forgotten local veterans.
