Abaana Brochures
My work with Abaana Ministries grew out of a long‑standing commitment to using design as a tool for dignity, clarity, and human connection. As a Christian charity working across Africa, Abaana’s mission is deeply rooted in compassion and practical support for vulnerable children. Partnering with them across several key publications allowed me to bring that mission to life visually, shaping narratives that honour the children they serve while equipping supporters with clear, engaging information.

Across three major projects, the Child Sponsorship booklet, the Street Reach booklet, and the Child Teams information guide, I developed a cohesive design approach grounded in warmth, accessibility, and emotional resonance. Each publication required its own tone and structure, yet all shared a common goal: to communicate hope, impact, and the transformative power of community support.

For the Child Sponsorship booklet, I crafted a visual narrative that gently guides readers through the sponsorship journey. Working closely with the Abaana team, I organised content, refined layout structures, and created a design language that feels compassionate and uplifting. The final piece balances heartfelt storytelling with practical information, helping potential sponsors understand both the need and the profound difference they can make.

The Street Reach booklet demanded a sensitive, respectful approach. The subject matter, children living on the streets, required a design that conveyed urgency without sensationalism. I focused on presenting the realities of street life with dignity, pairing strong imagery with clear, structured content that highlights Abaana’s life‑changing interventions. The result is a publication that informs, moves, and motivates readers to engage with the charity’s work.

With the Child Teams information booklet, I shifted the tone toward empowerment and community. This resource needed to inspire volunteers while clearly communicating the logistics and purpose of team involvement in Uganda. I developed a visual identity that feels trustworthy and hopeful, balancing vibrant photography with accessible typography and intuitive navigation. The final booklet serves as both a practical guide and an inspiring introduction to Abaana’s educational and outreach efforts.

Together, these projects reflect my broader design philosophy: meaningful causes deserve thoughtful, human‑centred design. My role is not only to make information clear and visually compelling, but to honour the stories behind the work, stories of resilience, compassion, and transformation. Collaborating with Abaana allowed me to bring those stories forward with care, clarity, and purpose, creating publications that support their mission and connect deeply with their audience.
