Ballycastle Key Stage 3 and 2 Workbooks

I worked with Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council across a series of heritage‑focused educational publications, each designed to make local history accessible, engaging, and visually coherent for young learners and the wider community. These projects, Ballycastle Heritage Trail, Papers, Pots and Past Lives, and Ballycastle Past and Present, allowed me to combine thoughtful design with meaningful cultural storytelling.

Working closely with museum staff and heritage specialists, I shaped the visual identity, layout, and overall user experience of each booklet, ensuring that complex historical information was translated into clear, approachable formats. For Key Stage 3 learners, I developed engaging resources that balanced educational objectives with strong design principles, using typography, hierarchy, and imagery to guide readers through themes ranging from archaeological evidence to Ballycastle’s rich cultural past. For Key Stage 2 audiences, I created a visually dynamic publication that paired archival photographs, maps, and sketches with contemporary views of the town, encouraging intergenerational storytelling and helping younger readers explore how their environment has evolved over time.

Across all three projects, my focus remained on clarity, accessibility, and visual flow—crafting layouts that support learning while reflecting the character and heritage of the region. These publications now serve as valuable educational tools within schools, museums, and community settings, contributing to wider initiatives that promote local history, cultural understanding, and public engagement.
